Emotions at Bagno Vignoni
Reflexes. It is the title of Daniela Capaccioli’s sculpture exhibition until June 30th. Through the use of the wire mesh, the sculptor creates scenarios and characters that can be inserted into a real environment and thanks to their transparency they remain discrete and invisible at first sight.
The Nymph show, faunas and magical creatures take shape in the sulfur waters flowing into Bagno Vignoni, in the splendid setting of the medieval basin. They appear as evanescent reflections when hot vapors blur their eyes and let them perceive shapes and shadows of hidden worlds. Observing well – explains the artist – you can see them as they spin you through your own reflection in the waters of the tub, flowing through a river, or in a mere puddle of water formed after the rain. Look deeper, deep down, I’m there waiting for you to accompany you on a gentle, quiet, silent journey.
Water, like a mirror, returns our upside-down image but, at the same time, deforms it and transforms it through its slight flicker, light reflections, vapor releasing and its changing color.
Therefore, become “something else” in contact with water, returning children in the womb, swimming fish, nymphs, fauna and all those images and memories imprinted in ancient memory.
This “other”, re-emerging through the reflection, accompanies those who are ready to follow it, into a mysterious world that attracts and rejects at the same time.
Attracted, as they were Narcissus and their own image, snein into the depths of the water element to join himself, what he will discover will save him or swallow it forever.
